My last concern is that I read in the PC Magazine article "Best VPN services 2017" that there are a bunch of fake VPN services out there that not only don't protect your data but actively steal it as a "man in the middle" attack. What's more annoying is that I keep seeing the special deals on VPN's here on Crackberry and find out most of THOSE are android only too! Besides that I haven't bothered to learn how to install android apps using Cobalt's method (the few apps t thought about getting all wanted too much access) I felt that something as critically important as a VPN should be built with the ability for BlackBerry to start with. Since we unfortunately make up such a tiny percentage of the smartphone market, none of the big names in tech like PC Magazine ever say if a reviewed app is compatible with BB10. But I really want to change that so I have a secure enough connection to feel that it's safe to access critical things that I otherwise only do on my home network like using online access to pay bills. I know that it's not encrypted but at least no one else is using the connection. Currently when I travel I rigorously avoid using free WiFi for ANY site or app that uses a log-in password with a username. So my search for a good quality VPN continues.ĭoes anyone here know of VPN providers that genuinely WORKS on BlackBerry 10 phones? With a strong preference for those who don't keep logs of all your activity? I'm not worried about the data being requested with a subpoena from a law enforcement angle but it seems to me that even if they "promise not to use or sell your browsing data" I have more trust with a provider that just doesn't keep logs in the 1st place! Sooner or later I think the providers that have logs will start to be tempted to monetize them! And unlike the various tracking methods of other systems they will have data to sell that's much more desirable to marketing companies since they have ALL of your traffic instead of the things that users forgot to block / delete. I tried to post this as a comment on the most recent deal for a 2 year subscription for a VPN service but AFTER typing all of this on my Q10's tiny keyboard it refused to allow for comments to be posted! SO, I looked at the site and as I figured, they don't support BB10.
